The Holiday Sharing Fund's Mission is to enhance the quality of Christmas for underprivileged children.
The Holiday Sharing Program is based on a long history of providing bicycles and other support to deserving families through the annual Oldsmar-Safety Harbor Mayor's Breakfast led by the Oldsmar / Eastlake Rotary Club and the Upper Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce. The Holiday Sharing Fund evolved when the Oldsmar Community Policing Deputy's received support from local businesses to purchase bicycles needed for Christmas. With the partnership of Full Throttle Magazine and the Chamber of Commerce the Holiday Sharing Fund was inaugrated. The first year, 2009 the fund was able to provide 20 bicycles to underprivileged children in the Oldsmar area. In 2010 the fund provided 27 bicycles and in 2011 provided 34 bicycles.
The Major fundraiser is the annual softball game "Christmas in July" held at Bright House Field. This game features a team of Sheriff's Deputies verses a team comprised of City/Chamber employees. The charity softball game is followed by a Thresher's game, all you can food, drinks and fireworks.
